Climbers always experience different Mountain climate. Either, warm, cool or very cold weather. This, thus calls for adequate preparation at all times and at any cost to avoid mountain sickness. Occasionally the mountains experience sudden rainfalls or even snowing even on the dry seasons.
Leave Nairobi at 6.30am and go past Sagana River arriving Naromoru in time for breakfast. Then ride up wards the Mt. Kenya park entrance for registration. Hoping the mountain climate is good, the visitors will have a good day to take many photos. Afterwards hike up through the rainforest up to Met station a distance of 9kms with an elevation of 3040m above the sea level.
The day trip offers a lifetime opportunity to walk past different mountainous vegetation type. Starting with the dense forest, then the bamboo forest before clearing up at the near moorland vegetation type as you get to the Met station.
The same itinerary can be used for botht the Chogoria route and the Sirimon route.
After some resting, taking photos and having packed lunch, head back to the gate and then to the Nairobi or a hotel nearby.
